The Tonight Present’s Jimmy Fallon made a shock announcement Tuesday evening to a household affected by Hurricane Florence. The household is one among many helped by Operation Blessing after that devastating hurricane.
Terry and Divya McArthur and their 12-year-old son had been flooded out of their house in Lumberton, NC through the hurricane.
“For lack of a better word, it’s a disaster. Some might refer to it as a nightmare. But Romans 8:28 says ‘all things work together for the good of those that love the Lord.’ So that’s where I’m finding peace,” Divya stated.
Operation Blessing gutted components of the house, and tore out moist flooring.
In the course of the demolition, the household was advised the Tonight Present wished to offer a number of hurricane victims a break from the catastrophe. On the present’s taping in New York Metropolis, the McArthurs had been shocked when Jimmy Fallon known as them out.
“Your house is a very special house, why is it special to you?” Fallon requested them. “Because my grandmother gave it to me,” Divya replied.
“Your grandmother left it to you and you’ve had a tough couple of years huh?” Fallon stated, mentioning they had been hit by Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and now once more by Hurricane Florence.
Fallon stated the household can be given a brand new roof and their house can be given a makeover with new furnishings because of a partnership between House Depot and Operation Blessing.
“Here’s what they’re gonna do,” he stated. “They’re gonna come in, they’re gonna fix your home, they’re gonna fix your roof, they’re gonna repaint and insulate your house, they’re gonna provide new furniture and appliances, redo your yard, and send in a Home Depot designer to refurnish your home.”
The group erupted in applause and Divya broke down in tears of gratitude.
As Divya stated, “All things work together for the good of those that love the Lord.”
